There's a moment right before someone forgets the camera is there — that's the one I'm always chasing. I'm Laura Macijauskaite, based in Limerick, working wherever the light leads.

I notice what most people scroll straight past — light pooling across a floor, a look someone didn't mean to give, the hush a room holds before anyone's spoken.

My work takes me everywhere — new studios, unfamiliar cities, coastlines I stumble onto without meaning to.

I'm always finding my way back to somewhere tropical — salt air, warm sand, light that stays gold long after it should have faded. But nothing compares to home. Green fields folding into the sea, sheep scattered along the cliffs, the Atlantic always somewhere close. Two kinds of beautiful

Rooms pull at me too — the ones built with real intention, the kind that already look like a photograph before anyone steps into frame.

Light landing on fabric just right. A laugh that catches someone off guard. Colours that shouldn't work together, and somehow do. And underneath all of it — confidence, quiet and unmistakable. That's the texture I'm really chasing.

Beauty was never a standard to meet. It's already there in someone or somewhere, waiting — not to be built, just finally seen.

In a session, I mostly watch. Quiet, observant, laughing easily in between — and that's usually when people forget to hold themselves so carefully. That's the version of you I want on camera.
